Be it in art or architecture, water carries a weight and symbolism while being central to human activity. For centuries, humans gathered and settled near bodies of water, a feature that shaped civilizations. Continuously looking for it, both the animal and plant kingdom depend on it to thrive. 

“Cities around the world are facing a range of pressures resulting from population growth, climate change and deterioration of urban infrastructure systems. As water demand continues to increase, an increasing number of cities will face challenges in efficiently managing scarcer, less reliable water resources. In an attempt to get closer to this matter, Frederica has directed her artistic practice towards this subject, questioning man’s true understanding of the impact of daily actions upon nature. Is man a robot or connected? Why can he not see?

While remaining connected to water, the element guiding her practice, Frederica believes that art can serve as a medium for change and increasing empathy. At the same time, she dives into her architecture practice in the same direction, using both practices as a medium for thought, reflection, and action.
